I went down to the Margaret River region (3 hours south of Perth), get used to riding loaded with enough gear to last me 3 weeks and test the gear I will be taking to the Munda Biddi. There is a blog post regarding gear changes after lessons learnt here: New Gear! Tried & Tested
This trail is almost completely flat, hardened surface and an easy ride. The trail starts in Cowaramup and ends in Witchcliffe. Dog Friendly too. Lots of other trails connect onto this trail and there are many options to explore different areas. I could of spent days and days exploring the area with many accommodation and things to do options.
How many days: 2 half days
Length: 46km round trip + many other route options
Accommodation: Stealth camped in the bush past Witchcliffe.
How to get there: Start is Cowaramup – I parked and left my car near the Fire Station at the end of Memorial Drv. This is the start of the trail.
Feeling: The Wandani Trail is like cycling through a marketing campaign for the beautiful Margaret River. I cycled past the Mountain Bike parks, then through forest, then vineyards, then dairy cow farmland and then conveniently, the trail winds through new 5 acre land lots for sale.
I stealth camped in the bush with a tarp to camouflage the bike and slept facing the stars. If you want a way to relax, no pressure on distance or speed and still be close enough to good coffee- this is the one to do.
…or if wineries, bed and breakfasts, beautiful views, great food appeal to you – this is also a great ride to do. Each to their own!
