Ash and I rode from Mundaring to Northam carrying our gear with hiking bags mounted onto a bike rack. Tesla the Border Collie ran with us the entire journey.

How to get there: We asked Mundaring MMs Electrical Wholesalers if they could look after our bikes for a couple hours and then drove to Northam. We parked at the Northam Police Station (and asked if we could leave our car overnight outside) and then got my Dad to drive us back from Northam to Mundaring and started there. We started outside the cemetary as dogs aren’t allowed in the Weir (where the official start of the track is).
Feeling: Riding through Wheatbelt farmland. Riding through wildflowers. Riding past West Australian heritage like old abandoned railway station platforms, old broken bridges, old mills, old brick factories etc. There is signage all along the track explaining the history of the area with stories of workers and farmers and also explaining the significance of the water catchments and certain plant life. Way more educational than I expected. And way more beautiful.
